Former Coach of Nigeria’s Super Eagles, Samson Siasia has taken to the social media to raise a sum of 250 Euros that he would need to defend himself against his much-talked-about ban by soccer ruling body, FIFA.

The ex-International, in a widely circulated 45-minute video said he was appealing to sports loving and well meaning Nigerians to come to his aid.

His words “I’m coming to you, sports loving and well-meaning Nigerians to come to my aid at this very difficult time of my life and career.

“I need to raise 250,000 Euros to defend myself against FIFA. The calculation is that if 200,000 kind-hearted people can raise 500 naira for me, we will reach our target.”

However, it has been reported that Siasia who played 51 times as a striker for the Nigerian national team and later coached various national youth sides has already filed his appeal against the ban at the Court of Arbitration for Sports in Switzerland.

It is therefore not surprising that he is using everything at his disposal to gather funds to prosecute his case and clear his name.

It was also gathered that he has enlisted the support of friends and other colleagues in the sporting world to raise funds to fight his battle.

It will be recalled that mid last year, FIFA said that the adjudicatory chamber of its independent ethics committee found Siasia guilty of conducts that violated FIFA’s Code of Ethics.
