Nigeria National League Gets Resumption Date

Nigeria’s second tier football league, Nigeria National League (NNL) will resume for action on the 14th of March according to communiqué issued at the end of a meeting between the Nigeria Football Federation Executive Committee and NNL Club Owners in Abuja during the week.

The 2019/2020 Nigerian National League season was postponed indefinitely halfway into the season after discussions between the NNL management and relevant authorities of the parent body, NFF, on crucial and critical issues raised by NNL club owners, proprietors and managers meeting held in Abuja fell through.

The meeting which was chaired by NFF President, Amaju Pinnick also deliberate on issues affecting the league in general including the review and adoption of the Referees report which sanction some of the men in black that officiated in 14 matches with reported issues of bad officiating.

It was also agreed that the NNF President and the Minister of Sports, Sunday Dare should meet the leadership of Club Owners and potential sponsors before the commencement of the League.
