The National President of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, Comrade Chris Isiguzo has confessed that words of admonition from his mother, Mrs Chinendu Sylvester-Isiguzo have been keeping him focused as he goes about his duties as the number one Journalist in Nigeria.

In a chat with PMParrot, the experienced journalist said “My mother, Mrs Chinendu Sylvester-Isiguzo, a business woman who is committed to her business trained me to equally be committed to whatever I am doing.

“While bringing me up, she trained me to be exactly disciplined. She was a strict disciplinarian. She still is. She still sees me as her boy that must be supervised. In those days, she used to go through my school books to get to know how I was doing.

“She would check my school test results and flog me when I fail any subject. Ha, she dealt with me! She used to sing it to me that I must never spoil the good name of the family. Till today, she monitors me. She calls me every day to know what I am doing and what I plan to do.

“She tells me at every given opportunity not to disgrace her and that I must always remember where I am coming from. These words of admonition keep me focused.

“These warnings are always at the back of my mind anytime I am about to make any decision even in my present position as Nigeria’s number one Journalist.”
