Oyo State Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) on Sunday prayed that the power of resurrection of Jesus Christ will conquer the Coronavirus pandemic ravaging the world.
The union in its messages jointly signed by its Chairman, Alhaji Ademola Babalola and Secretary, Comrade Sola Oladapo to felicitate with its members on the Easter festivities, particularly Christians for witnessing this year’s Easter celebration prayed that members continue to enjoy the blessings of Jesus Christ.
Oyo NUJ stressed that there is the need for a divine solution to the pandemic through the power of resurrection to conquer the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic presently creating economic hardship for all.
The union then urged its members to emulate the virtues of love, selflessness, patience and perseverance as exhibited by Jesus Christ and as well be more committed to the development of the state, Nigeria and the world at large.
While urging media practitioners to put their faith in God and pray that the world overcome the pandemic soon, it tasked them to conduct themselves moderately, comply with government directives and observe preventive measures reeled out by health professionals.
The union reminded members of its directive to stop all physical interviews as a preventive measure against spread of COVID-19.
