Nigeria’s Super Eagles goalkeeper, Maduka Okoye has landed in Netherlands for a contract talks with Dutch oldest professional football team, Sparta Rotterdam.
The Fortuna Düsseldorf goalkeeper, who made his debut for Nigeria national football team as a substitute in a friendly match against Brazil on October,13 2019, was spotted at the Het Kasteel,the Sparta stadium with his agent, Fardy Bachdim on Friday afternoon to discuss the possibility of his move to the club.
Okoye, who contract with the German Bundesliga outfit, Fortuna Düsseldorf expires next month, hinted that he could be playing in the Netherlands next season.
Apart from Sparta Rotterdam, the dual-eligible goalkeeper is also attracting interest from unnamed European clubs.
Since 2017 he has been representing the youth teams of Fortuna Düsseldorf, having previously defended the colours of Borussia Mönchengladbach and Bayer 04 Leverkusen.
Sani Kaita and Dele Adeleye, who were part of the Super Eagles squad to the 2010 World Cup, have both played for Sparta Rotterdam in the past.
