Son of late Chief Bola Ige, Architect Muyiwa Ige has commiserated with the families of his father’s political associates who died successively in the last few days.

The son of the Former Governor of old Oyo State and former Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the federation described the death of the trusted associates as great losses to the Progressive family in Oyo State in particular and Southwest in general.

The shocking news of the death of Baba Farinu, Gbadebo and Adelere in succession filled the media and political space in the last two weeks while that of Baba Akindele filtered on Sunday.

According to Muyiwa, the fallen democratic heroes were committed and dedicated progressives since the days of Chief Obafemi Awolowo and they remained undaunted in the face of political intimidation.

“Very sad news! They were all loyal and great men who stood firm. They committed their time and energy for the emancipation of robust democracy in the old Oyo State and Southwestern, Nigeria.

“Baba Akindele was a very kind and loyal man. A great Organising Secretary of the progressive cause, and was a core Ige loyalist. I really liked him and I cherish every moment I had with him. May God grant his soul sweet sleep,” Muyiwa stated.

The renowned Architect and former Osun State Commissioner for Lands, Physical Planning and Urban Development noted that Baba Akindele ran a good race and that Oyo town and Yorubaland have lost another great son.

He further prayed that the Lord shall comfort the loved ones they all left behind.
