Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s government in Lagos State has announced the indefinite suspension of the proposed reopening of churches and mosques scheduled for this weekend.
Sanwo-Olu said this on Tuesday afternoon during a briefing at the State House, Marina.
Sanwo-Olu had on June 4th announced that religious gatherings would be allowed to commence from June 19 and June 21, 2020.
According to the Governor, mosques were to reopen from June 19 while churches were to begin services from June 21.
Meanwhile, Oyo State’s government under Engineer Seyi Makinde is, in addition to opening worship centers has asked schools to start warming up for resumption as from the end of June.
