At long last, late Chief Francis Ayegbeni’s legacy property, D’Rovans Hotel (later renamed Walan Hotel) has been sold for N350 million.
Family source informed that the buying and selling of the prime property located on Ring Road, the capital city of Oyo State was carried out by Asset Management Corporation Of Nigeria (AMCON) recently.
According to PMParrot’s family source, AMCON sold the property for N350 million and deducted the N90 million being owed by the family.
“We thank God that this is behind us now. We got N260 million. And of course, it is not as if the children are doing this alone. Other family members are being carried along”.
Meanwhile, PMParrot can authoritatively confirm that the property was sold to one Obiyinka Sunday who owns Extension Printing Press. His offices are located somewhere at UMC, Molete area of Ibadan.
It will be recalled that the Hotel’s travails started sometime in 2017 when AMCON moved to retrieve the debt being owed by late Chief Francis Ayegbeni.
One of the members of the league of lawyers that handled the buying and selling of the property, Mr Oladipo Olasope, SAN, confirmed that the property was sold and bought recently.
“I don’t have anything to tell you. But I can confirm that AMCON has sold the property. The family is no longer owning AMCON,” he informed.
