Nigeria’s Super Falcons jersey to the 2019 Women’s World Cup in France is in the lead following votes for the tournament’s Top 4 best jerseys by FIFA.
FIFA announced this on its Women’s World Cup Twitter page on Sunday.
Other jerseys also nominated are that of Australia, England and Germany.
“Here are the four jerseys which were mentioned the most. It’s time to vote now: Which jersey at the 2019 #FIFAWWC was your favourite? T-shirt #France2019 @TheMatildas (Australia) | @Lionesses (England) | @DFB_Frauen (Germany) | @NGSuper_Falcons (Nigeria),” the tweet read.
The poll, which ends on Monday (today), already had 1,027 votes at 6:15pm on Sunday, when our correspondent visited the page.
The Falcons jersey was ahead with 41.6 per cent of the votes, ahead of England, second with 22.2 per cent.
The German women’s team placed third with 19.7 per cent while Australia placed fourth with 16.6 per cent.
Falcons qualified for the knockout stage of the Women’s World Cup for the first time in 20 years in France.
They were eventually knocked out in the second round after losing 3-0 to Germany.
