A renowned Architect and the scion of the Ige Dynasty, Muyiwa Ige has described the death of the former governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi as sad and a great loss to the entire progressive family in the country.

Muyiwa, the son of first Executive Governor of old Oyo State and former Attorney-General and Minister of Justice of the Federation, late Chief Bola Ige SAN, noted that Senator Ajimobi departed when the party and political associates needed him most.

He further described the late governor as an industrious “Uncle” who leveraged on the skills and experiences he garnered from both private and public sectors to transform Oyo State and the Party at large.

“Uncle (my neighbour) was humourous and industrious. He always enjoyed stopping over for light refreshments and a glass of bubbly. His late father, Baba Gani Ajimobi was very close and loyal to my late father.

In his first term, I chaired (pro bono) his Infrastructure Committee that drew up the blueprint of the Infrastructure works of the administration thru the Transformation ThinkTank. His administration did a great job in transforming the physical space of Oyo State.

“He was a core party man who contributed immensely to the growth of the party at the state and national level. We shall all miss him “, Ige stated.

Ige, a former Commissioner for Lands, Physical Planning and Urban Development in the State also sympathised with the immediate family and the associates of the late governor who, according to him, cannot do without having him around.

He, however, prayed that the Lord shall grant his soul sweet repose and the fortitude for the loved ones to bear the irreparable loss.
