Football legend who won the African Footballer of the Year diadem four times, Samuel Eto’o Fils, will again feature on African Voices ChangeMakers, sponsored by Globacom on the Cable News Network (CNN).
The compilation programme which goes on air this weekend will feature Eto’o alongside Godfrey Nzamujo, a regenerative agriculture enthusiast, and Yvonne Anuli Orji, a Nigerian-American actress who was catapulted to continental reckoning through her role as Molly in the Home Box Office series Insecure.
Eto’o, who earlier featured on the programme in May, 2020, began playing football with Kadji Sports Academy in his country where he established a reputation as a top marksman. After four years, he moved to Europe and joined one of its top clubs, Real Madrid, in 1997. He later played for Real Mallorca, Chelsea, Everton, and Qatar Football Club before retiring from professional football in 2019.
Yvonne Orji, one of the two Nigerians being x-rayed on the programme, was born on December 2, 1983, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. She relocated with her family to Maryland in the United States of America when she was just six years old. She then pursued a career in comedy after graduating from George Washington University with multiple degrees including a Masters in Public Health.
Orji became highly successful in the fields of acting and comedy. She was guest of TEDx Wilmington Salon in 2017 where her talk titled “The wait is sexy” explained her reasons for abstaining from sex before marriage.
Conversely, Godfrey Nzamujo, will talk about his activities in environmental protection through renewable energy – biogas, biofuels, rural energy development, sustainable agriculture in the tropics and the corresponding institutional framework, microbiology and soil fertilization.
The programme comes up on DSTV on Saturday at 7.30 a.m, with repeat broadcasts on Sunday at 5.00 a.m., 8.00 a.m. and 6.30 p.m. and on Monday at 5.30 a.m.
