How Alex Iwobi Got Nominated For Everton’s Awards

For his good work for English Premier League side, Everton this season, Nigeria’s Super Eagles playmaker, Alex Iwobi has been nominated for two prestigious end of the season awards.

Iwobi, who joined the Toffees from Arsenal, has been shortlisted for the Player of the Season and Young Player of the Season awards.

Iwobi qualified for the Young Player of the Season award having played for the first team and was under 23 year this season while he get the Player of the Season nomination because every Everton player who made a first team appearance this season is eligible.

Players with the Nigeria international on the eight-man shortlist for Young Player of the Season are Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Tom Davies, Anthony Gordon, Mason Holgate, Jean-Philippe Gbamin, Moise Kean and Richarlison.

The skillful forward recorded 27 appearances for Everton this season with two goals.

The 23-year-old player, who is a nephew of former Nigeria international, Austin ‘Jay-Jay’ Okocha is contracted to the Merseyside until June 2024.
