Nigeria’s Super Eagles striker, Kelechi Iheanacho has been nominated for Leicester City’s Goal of the Season award.

Leicester announced the 12 nominations for the award along with video clips and published it on their verified Twitter handle on Wednesday.

Iheanacho was nominated following his brilliant goal against Brentford in the third round of the Emirates FA Cup in January which Leicester won 1-0.

The former Manchester City star scored the only goal of the game after just four minutes when he tapped in a cross from full-back James Justin.

Other players in the running for the award are Jamie Vardy, Harvey Barnes, James Maddison, Ricardo Pereira, Ayoze Perez, Ben Chilwell and Hamza Choudhury.

Aside the Goal of the Season award, other categories are Supporters’ Player of the Season and Young Player of the Season.

Alongside these three categories, awards will also be handed out for the Players’ Player of the Season, Development Squad Player of the Season and Academy Player of the Season.

Due to the current social distancing recommendations in place around the UK, there will be no End of Season Dinner this season.

Meanwhile, voting by Leicester club fans for all awards will close at 12pm on Friday 24 July.
