Following the bank robbery that claimed the life of Divisional Police Officer in Okeho, Kajola area of Oyo State, the lawmaker representing Kajola state constituency in the state House of Assembly, Hon. Akeem Mustapha has commiserated with the Nigeria Police Force, Oyo State Command.
The lawmaker, while presenting his personal explanation on the floor of the House, described the incident as unfortunate and prayed for the speedy recovery of the people that sustained injuries and currently receiving treatment at various hospitals.
Hon. Mustapha also commiserated with the family of the deceased policeman and the entire people of Kajola state constituency over the ugly incident.
According to him, “I wish to draw the attention of the House to the unfortunate incidence of bank robbery at Okeho in Kajola Local Government, that I represent. The incident occurred on Wednesday, 29th July, 2020 when the armed robbery gang stormed the bank at about 4:58pm.
“Meanwhile, prior to their full operation in the bank, the gang had attacked Okeho Divisional Police station where they succeeded in shooting the Divisional Police Officer (DPO).”
Hon. Mustapha assured that implementation of Amotekun security outfit will go a long way in supporting the police to ensure security of lives and properties.
“In view of the ugly incident, I, on behalf of the people of Kajola state constituency, commiserate with the family of the deceased and by extension, the Nigeria Police Force, Oyo State Command over the death of the officer.
“Similarly, I pray for the quick recovery of those who sustained various degrees of injuries during the incident,” Hon. Mustapha stated.
