Senator Buruji Kashamu, whose demise was announced on Saturday afternoon seems to still be under attack, even in death, from ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo.
The Owu chief, in a statement sent out by his media aide, Kehinde Akinyemi emphatically said the late Kashamu used ‘maneuver of law, politics to escape from facing justice.
The statement, which is supposed to be a condolence letter to the governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun saw Obasanjo describing the demise of the controversial politician as a really sad one, adding that “Senator Esho Jinadu (Buruji Kashmu) in his lifetime used the maneuver of law and politics to escape from facing justice on alleged criminal offence in Nigeria and outside Nigeria.
“But no legal, political, cultural, social or even medical maneuver could stop the cold hand of death when the Creator of all of us decides that the time is up.
“May Allah forgive his sin and accept his soul into Aljanah, and may God grant his family and friends fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.”
