The Director General for Akeredolu/Ayedatiwa Campaign Organization, Rt. Honourable Victor Olabimtan has assured of adequate preparation towards hosting of party dignitaries that will be arriving Akure, the Ondo State capital ahead of the official flag-off of the campaign rally for the re-election of the incumbent Governor of State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu.
Olabimtan who disclosed this while talking to PMParrot in his office at the Akeredolu/Aiyedatiwa Campaign headquarters located at the popular Ilesa garage/FUTA road in Akure promised adequate security and perfect arrangement for the event scheduled for Akure Township Stadium on Saturday, September 5th, 2020.
Among dignitaries expected are the Caretaker Chairman of the All Progressive Congress who also doubles as the Governor of Yobe State, Alhaji Buni; all members of the National APC Caretaker Committee; the National Leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Chairman of the Ondo State APC National Campaign Council who is also the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu along with all the Progressive Governors in the Country.
Olabimtan further disclosed that the flag off rally will also have in attendance all the gubernatorial aspirants who contested along with the incumbent Governor during the primary and this include Chief Olusola Oke, Honourable Ife Oyedele, Chief Olusola Iji, Honorable D.I. Kekemeke among others.
Others expected are the party chieftains in the State- Alhaji Alli Olanusi and Alhaji Lasisi Oluboyo, both were former Deputy Governors of Ondo State during tenure of the Dr. Olusegun Mimiko respectfully.
“We have made adequate preparations by obtaining Police permit, as you can see the Akure Township Stadium is wearing a new look. And we will ensure adherence to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) regulations, as we have prepared jingles for sensitization on Radio and Television Stations in the State.
“Our people are coming to attend the rally, as it is going to be carnival like. We have told those who love the APC and Governor Akeredolu not to miss the opportunity to be physically present at the rally come Saturday as we will open the stadium for everybody to come in by 11.00am because the program will start by 12.00 noon. It is going to be all fun by the Grace of God”, he submitted.
He, however, advised members of the APC in Ondo State to conduct themselves in an orderly manner while they continue to campaign vigorously for Governor Akeredolu’s re-election, urging them to eschew whatever bitterness is in their hearts and do away with hooliganism during the campaign exercise.
“APC is not a party that breeds thugs. We appeal to our party men and women and youths to embrace peace in all they do during this electioneering campaign, as I also urge our people to troop out in large numbers on Saturday to show the world that truly, the electorates of Ondo State are solidly behind Arakunrin Akeredolu for second term as Governor of the State”, Olabimtan concluded.
