It was a celebration galore in Akure, the capital city of Ondo State recently when the newly elected Councilors from 203 Wards in the 18 local government areas in the state received their certificates of return from the Ondo State Independent Electoral Commission (ODIEC).
The election which was held on the 22nd of August 2020 produced the new councilors that stormed the ODIEC Headquarters in Akure with their political associates and well-wishers.
The ODIEC Chairman, Professor Yomi Dinakin who presented the certificates to each and every one of them inside his office at the headquarters of the Commission, located along the Oba-Ile road in Akure congratulated them and wished them a successful tenure.
The Councilors that were all elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) are awaiting an announcement for their swearing-in by the State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu so that they can hit the ground running.
