Zonal Secretaries have been charged to execute their job effectively, as ambassadors of the commission to the schools under the local government they are administering.
The Permanent Secretary, Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) Mr. Johnson Odeyemi stated this while addressing zonal secretaries from various Local Government in Ogun State held at the Commission’s Conference Room, Oke- Mosan, Abeokuta.
He noted it is imperative they act promptly to the information requested by the Commission, to accelerate the treatment of teachers records.
Odeyemi expressed that the present administration intends to align with a visionary teaching Service Commission, urging the Secretaries to be supportive to the agenda of the State Government, in its mission to revolutionize the education sector.
The PS added that they should apply wisdom in tackling confrontational issues and establish cordial relationship with the Principals and teachers under their local Government.
Speaking on behalf of other Zonal Secretaries, the Chairman, Conference of Zonal Secretaries in Ogun State Mr. Olusina Faleti appreciated TESCOM management for calling the meeting of all zonal secretaries, saying that it was long overdue.
He promised that all that has been said ranging from proper monitoring of teachers, improper dressing and keeping up to date time book, would be the priority of the Secretaries.
He appreciated the present administration for taking the welfare of the teacher seriously.
