The President of the Yoruba Community in Toronto, Canada, Chief Mrs. Sola Olubunmi, has donated hundreds of facemasks to residents of Efon Alaye in Ekiti State as part of her support in the battle against the spread of the novel Coronavirus pandemic in the state.
According to her, she deemed it fit to donate the facemasks as part of her Corporate social responsibilities (CSR) in order to sustain the awareness and to further prevent the spread of the deadly virus in the locality.
Prince Sola Adetule, the Executive Director, SOMIJOK Investment Ltd in Efon Alaaye, Ekiti State while speaking on behalf of Chief (Mrs) Sola Olubunmi said “there is a need to distribute the facemasks to the people as part of the preventive measures against the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic and to ensure that the community is safe to be inhabited”.
According to Prince Sola Adetule who spoke with PMParrot on the future plans of Chief Mrs. Sola Olubunmi to the residents said “the people of Efon Alaaye community should expect more of such gestures from Mrs. Sola Olubunmi while using the opportunity to promise the residents that materials such as notebooks, leather sandals, socks are going to be distributed to thirty one primary schools in Efon Alaaye as well as a sum of N50,000 each (fifty thousand naira) will be distributed to indigent people in the Community soonest”.
Adetule maintained that the gestures of Chief Mrs. Sola Olubunmi to give out the above listed items is part of her ‘Give back to the community’ initiative programme.
He equally used the opportunity to counsel the people of the Efon community to take their health issues more seriously so as not to return the country to another round of Covid-19 pandemic wave which affected a lot of businesses negatively”, he submitted.
