The Committee saddle with the task of planning and executing a befitting fifth coronation anniversary of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi has unveiled more plans to celebrate the foremost Yoruba King in grand style.
The Anniversary Committee rising from its meeting over the weekend under its Chairman, Honourable Sola Lawal revealed a more detailed plans to celebrate the Ooni.
The details according to a press release signed and sent to PMParrot on Sunday afternoon by the Director, Media and Public Affairs at the Ooni of Ile-Ife’s Palace, Comrade Moses Olafare stated “that on Friday December 4th, 2020, three (3) different activities such as Juma’at Service at the Ile-Ife Central Mosque; Ile’Ya Omo Oodua, a programme designed for reuniting all persons of Yoruba origin across world with their source; and Free Medical Cares for women suffering from Urinary Tract Infections (UTI) by HAI-Hopes Alives Initiatives, an NGO owned by the Ooni will be held”.
Olafare maintained “that on Saturday 5th December, 2020; there would be a historic Home Coming Visit to the Ooni of Ile-Ife’s Palace by the Sons and Daughters of Otun Ekiti led by the Oore of Otun and the Paramount Ruler of Mobaland, HRM, Oba Adekunle Adeagbo”.
Also, on the same day, there will be visitation to the site for the proposed International University of Global Peace located along the Ifewara road and followed by a Dinner for the Ooni organized by Asiwaju of Ile-Ife, Chief Alex Duduyemi.
“Olafare added that the second Conference and Convention of Southwest Traditional Rulers by the Heritage Forum will hold on December, 6th at Ife Grand Resorts in Ile-Ife; where several topical issues affecting the Yoruba Nation worldwide would be discussed and way forward decided. The day will also witness the Grand Finale Party at the Ooni’s Palace organized by the fifth Year Coronation Anniversary Committee led by Honourable Sola Lawal and supported by Princess Toyin Kolade Team”.
The programmes slated for Monday, the 7th of December, 2020 included the QMA-Queen Moremi Ajasoro Initiative by Princess Ronke Ademiluyi in conjunction with Her Excellency, Yeye Moremi Olufunso Amosun presenting the Moremi Olufunso Empowerment and Entrepreneurial Grants for Women.
On the same day, there would be official presentation of a special Documentary by Story TV, a Cultural TV Channel owned by Ekundayo Balogun, a Dublin based indigene of Ile-Ife.
“Ooni’s Day With The Kids will hold on Wednesday 9th December, 2020 while the Thanksgiving Service will climax the celebrations of the Ooni’s 5th Coronation Anniversary on Sunday 13th December 2020 by 10am at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Ayegbaju in Ile-Ife”, the statement concluded.
