Nigeria’s national football team, Super Eagles ended the year in the 35th best team in the world in the FIFA ranking released on Thursday.
After failing to win any of their four games played this year (one defeat, three draws), the Eagles maintained their 35th spot in the last ranking with 1,474 points.
Gernot Rohr’s team played four matches this calendar year, drawing three and losing the other – a friendly against African champions Algeria two months ago.
They are joint fourth in the Confederation of Africa ranking along with Morocco.
The top three African countries remain unchanged with Senegal at number one, followed by Tunisia and Algeria.
Belgium finished the year at number one and are followed by France, Brazil, England and Portugal in second, third, fourth and fifth respectively.
The next FIFA World Rankings will be published on February 18, 2021.
