Nigeria’s Super Eagles defender, Semi Ajayi is still basking in the euphoria of scoring his first ever English Premier league goal for West Bromwich Albion.
Ajayi scored in the Baggies’s 1-1 away draw against Liverpool on Sunday and it was his first in 13 league appearances this season.
The goal came in the 82nd minutes of the match after planting a loop header into the far corner from Matthew Perreira’s cross.
After the match, the former Rotherham and Arsenal took to his Instagram account to enjoy the moment with Albion fans
“First Premier League goal! God is great,” Ajayi wrote on Instagram.
Meanwhile, among defenders since the start of the 2018-19 season, only Virgil van Dijk and Aaron Pierre (both nine) have scored more headed league goals in England’s top four tiers than West Brom’s Semi Ajayi (eight).
The 26-year-old will be hoping to continue his good run of game when West Brom play host to Leeds United on Tuesday.
