The lawmaker representing Oyo south senatorial district, Senator Muhammad Kola Balogun has charged Nigerian youths to get involved in political activities of the country.
Senator Balogun stated this on recently while speaking at the 2020 edition of the Lead Conference themed “Leadership and the way forward in Nigeria”.
The 11th edition of lead forum was convened by the chairman of Ibadan East Local Council Development Area, Hon Abiodun Babalola.
Speaking further at the event, Senator Balogun noted that Nigeria is currently in a dysfunctional state and it will take the restructuring of the entire system for it to thrive.
He said, “This nation as at today is dysfunctional. We have to restructure this country, if we really want to live as a fulfilled nation. As a member of the Senate committee on Army, I know what we saw when we visited the North, there is Boko Haram in the North East and bandits in the North West”.
We have a dysfunctional system especially at the federal level and we need the revolutionary youths to support us by being politically active in the affairs of the country.
Echoing the submission of Senator Balogun, the convener, Hon Abiodun Babalola, maintained that it is important for youths to contribute to nation building by getting involved through any of their convenience means of political and developmental participation.
Speaking further, Comrade Demola Babalola, the chairman of Nigeria Union Of Journalists, reaffirmed that until Nigerian youths are determined to play active roles in leadership positions at every level, the country will still be led by the same old people with less idea.
The number one journalist in the pace setter state therefore encouraged the youth to love what they are doing and be determined to achieve their dreams passionately.
Vibrant broadcaster and the General Manager of Petals FM, Dotun Saseyi noted the contributions of past Nigerian heroes and urged the youth to be strategic and holistic in their dealings as success walks in line with hard work.
The event which was held at Palms 77 Hotel and Suites, Agodi, Ibadan attracted a large number of youth across all walks of life.
