As part of Ekiti State government’s efforts to combat the spread of the second wave of coronavirus in Ekiti State, the state’s government though its Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Barrister (Mrs.) Iyabo Fakunle-Okieimen has directed business owners to fumigate their premises.
The Commissioner gave the directive in Ado at a meeting with representatives of Private Schools Owners, Hoteliers, Bread Producers, Owners of Event Centers and Water producers.
She said that the State Government would monitor compliance of the directive to ensure use of genuine and effective chemicals, directing them to liaise with the Ministry to make sure that the fumigation is done professionally and in accordance with the world best practice.
Stressing the commitment of the present administration to the well-being of people in the State, the Commissioner said that government would leave no stone unturned towards curtailing the spread of the virus and generally protecting the lives of people in the State.
She noted that Governor Kayode Fayemi had been proactive in tackling the virus right from the beginning, adding that his foresight and prompt actions made Ekiti State one of the least affected States in the country.
The Commissioner urged the people, especially business owners to complement the efforts of the State Government by observing the Covid-19 guidelines and protocols.
Okiemien reminded them to wash their hands regularly with soap under running water and to use sanitizers appropriately, urging them to place these itemS at the entrance of their buildings, to ensure that social distance is maintained, body temperature of customers are well taken in addition to proper wearing of nose masks.
