English Premier League club, West Bromwich Albion are poised to offer Nigeria’s Super Eagles skipper, Ahmed Musa a contract after the winger impressed the coaching staff with his physical condition.
The free agent arrived in the United Kingdom on Tuesday morning but the scheduled tests were delayed because the Baggies were involved in Premier League action against Sheffield United.
Musa passed an in-depth fitness test conducted by West Brom’s sports science and performance team at the training center in Walsall on Thursday, paving the way for him to thrash out a deal with the club.
The player’s intermediary, Tony Harris is proposing a short-term deal with the possibility of extension at the end of the 2020-2021 season.
Although Musa has been inactive for club and country since November 17, 2020, he is in tip-top condition because he doesn’t smoke, drink or party in clubs, and was training on his own in Nigeria before heading to the United Kingdom.
The 28-year-old was on the radar of clubs based in Saudi Arabia, China, Mexico, Turkey and Russia but chose West Brom because he wants to prove himself again in the Premier League.
Musa was Leicester City’s record signing when he moved to the Foxes from CSKA Moscow in July 2016.
