The Super Eagles played their home games in the 90s and early 2000s at the former National Stadium in Surulere.
However, they’ve not played a qualifier in Lagos since the Abuja National Stadium was built in 2003. When the Abuja National Stadium was abandoned, the three-time African champions moved to the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo where they played both Nations Cup and World Cup qualifiers between 2015 and 2019.
But recently they’ve been playing in different parts of the country with no place to call their home. Their last qualifying game was played at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin.
The Super Eagles will face the Squirrels of Benin Republic in Cotonou on March 25 before hosting Lesotho at home.
Gernot Rohr’s side defeated Lesotho 4-2 in the first leg in Maseru last year.
