APC Revalidation/Registration Exercise: A Good Way To Reposition For Future Challenges

A chieftain of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo state and founder of the Hassan Olawale Giwa (HOG) Foundation, Dr. Hassan Giwa has described the ongoing membership registration and revalidation exercise as a good decision to reposition the party to withstand future challenges.

Speaking with journalists after he registered at his ward 6, Lagun, Lagelu North Local Council Development Area of Oyo state recently, Giwa stressed the significance of the exercise and expressed optimism that it will enable the party to put right pegs in the right holes.

The founder of HOG Foundation added that party members should team up and make sure that the right people are put in leadership positions to co-ordinate the affairs of the party.

Speaking on the chances of the party in Oyo state in the coming elections, Giwa expressed confidence that APC will take over the control of the state come 2023.

According to him, “I have no doubt in my mind that come 2023, APC will take over the mantle of leadership in Oyo state and beyond that, the party will put right people in leadership positions, so it is something we are looking forward to. That is why every member must come out now for registration, so we can collectively prepare for future challenges.”

The philanthropist urged party hierarchy and stakeholders to ensure that the current unity in the party is sustained by avoiding imposition of candidates but allow people’s choices to prevail at the end of the day.

Giwa also called on Nigeria’s youths to show interest in political affairs of the country by coming out and actively participating in electoral processes, so their interests can be well represented.

He used the opportunity to check on the smooth running of the exercise at various polling units within the council area including Apatere, Oyedeji and Lagun.

In his remarks, the party’s chairman in Lagelu Local Government, Hon. Kehinde Adeleke expressed satisfaction with the turnout of members for the exercise so far.

Adeleke said upon receipt of materials from the party’s state secretariat, he ordered that the distribution of same to polling units in every ward of the local government, for the smooth conduct of the exercise.

He told journalists that the exercise is a good omen that would bring about positive changes to the party.
