The candidate of Accord in the 2019 gubernatorial election in Oyo State, Hon. Saheed Adegboyega Ajadi has empowered not less than 30 widows with cash gift in his local government, Ibadan North East Local Government.
This, according to the financial expert, is to alleviate the suffering of people particularly the aged and widows in the state. The programme was held at his Ibadan resident located at Green Springs Area, Old-Ife Road.
Hon. Ajadi, who disclosed that many well-to-do people in the society are not doing enough to make life meaningful to Widows and aged people.
“I organized this programme to alleviate poverty, people are suffering too much and there is nobody to help them, so I have to give back to them from the little I have. As you can see, they are widows who do not have husbands, they will pay rent, feed and clothe and school fees of their children.”
He emphasized that Oyo State government has failed in its responsibility to create enabling environment for the widows, aged and youths to survive.
While revealing his plans for the aged, widows and downtrodden in Oyo State, Ajadi said that he will create avenue where children of the poor can survive and become important personalities through good education, healthcare and infrastructure development policies.
Calling on Accord party loyalists and people of the state to join hands with him to liberate the Oyo State from the shackles of poverty, and mismanagement, the 2019 governorship candidate assured them that the gesture will be extended to other local government areas in the state.
Hon. Ajadi appealed to all Accord party members to work together in unity and love with other party stakeholders to deliver Oyo State in 2023 gubernatorial election.
Speaking on way forward on security challenges facing Nigeria as a nation, Hon. Ajadi urged all Nigerians irrespective of ethnic and religion affiliation to love one another to overcome this national problem.
He described those calling for secession as unpatriotic people, stating that they are set of people who are only after their selfish interests.
Ajadi, therefore, solicited for support for President Muhammad Buhari from all and sundry in the country to put an end to terrorism, banditry, kidnapping, ethnic and religion crises.
