A Magistrate Court Sitting in Ado Ekiti on Monday remanded three suspects in prison in connection with the killings that took place on Saturday during the recently held Ekiti East House of Assembly Bye Election.

In his ruling, the Magistrate, Abdulhameed Lawal after listening to the motions presented by the counsels of both parties including the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) Julius Ajibare ruled that the three suspects namely Adenijo Olushola (a.k.a Solar.), 36 years; Paul Folorunso, Male, 45 years and Adebayo Serifat, Female, 40 years be remanded at the Ado Ekiti correctional facility till the 19th day of April, 2021 for further hearing.

Meanwhile, owing to the Charge Sheet made available to PMParrot at the end of the Court Sitting on Monday, the three suspects were alleged of attempted murder of one Babatunde Adeleye and Bola Adebisi at Omuo Ekiti during the election held on Saturday, 20th of March, 2021.

It should be recalled that victims of gunshots are currently receiving treatment at the Federal Teaching Hospital, Ido Ekiti and at other undisclosed places.

According to an affidavit sworn by the Commissioner of Police in Ekiti State as Complainant / Applicant with Charge No MAD/63FK/2021 through one ASP Adio Ayuba, attached to the Ekiti State CID in Ado Ekiti, revealed that the victims are critically injured and are receiving treatment at the Federal health facility.

According to the State Commissioner, one of the victims is a serving Police Sergeant named Bukola Olawoye deployed for election duty on the aforementioned date while other victims of gunshots named Akande Oluwadare, Male; Tosin Adeniyi, Female and Omolola Emmanuel are currently receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital”, he stated.
