This was just as over N100 million teaching facilities/equipment were injected into the institution’s departments of Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Electronics for effective and efficient learning.
This was revealed by the Special Adviser to the VC on Media Matters, Wole Balogun in a statement in Ado Ekiti.
Prof. Fasina was accompanied by two distinguished personalities, Oye-Ekiti born Chief Ayeni Akintunde, Chairman/CEO, Yemkem International Limited, and Dr. Temi Leo Adegun, former Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the Ekiti State University (EKSU), during a courtesy visit to the Ooni of Ife in Ile-Ife to discuss possible areas of partnership for progress and development for FUOYE.
“The historic meeting turned out to be very fruitful as FUOYE Vice-Chancellor and his team were able to get the royal blessings of his Imperial Majesty, Oba Adeyeye on the proposal to ensure partnership and support for developmental programmes for our great Ivory Tower.
“An excited Ooni and father of the Yoruba people, assured the VC that he would support FUOYE in ensuring that more breakthrough is brought to the citadel of learning in the area of infrastructural projects and other development initiatives.
“Speaking further about the visit to the Ooni, an erudite scholar and pionneer Head of Department of Mechatronics in FUOYE, Dr. Adefemi Adekunle said Ooni’s royal blessings came during the time the VC was making effort to visit key personalities in Nigeria to seek support for the University’s future growth and development”.
In another laudable development, some equipment worth over a hundred million Naira (N100 Million), were installed by experts into FUOYE’s departments of Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Electronics recently to ensure effective and efficient teaching and learning activities.
Dr. Adekunle who is the Deputy Dean, FUOYE School of Post Graduate Studies, said: “l was the Pioneer HOD of Mechatronics and since then we have been making committed efforts to ensure that we have relevant equipment through TETFUND and other windows of opportunities and this has yielded positive results.
The emergence of Prof. Fasina signaled more successful development for our great institution in general because this development happening now is significant. With the new development, we will be having more equipment to teach both the undergraduate and especially the post graduate students”.
“This laudable development will also ensure an improvement on our webometric ranking as the world will now realize that FUOYE now has a state-of-the-art equipment in these departments.
“Let me also reveal that we have already been recording huge academic successes in this faculty. A proud example in this respect is an academic feat recently achieved by one of our brilliant students in Mechatronics department, Mr Samuel Adejumo, who designed a drone that can spray a farm plantation. He is a student I supervised and we are very proud of him”.
