The Senator representing Ekiti South, Senator Abiodun Olujimi has donated educational materials worth millions of naira to 36 selected secondary schools in the six local government areas of the senatorial district.
Speaking at the event over the weekend, Senator Olujimi stated that her gesture was borne out of her desire to assist indigent students in her senatorial district in fulfilment of her campaign promises while seeking re-election to the Senate.
She stated that Ekiti State is regarded as the fountain of knowledge adding that valuable policies must be put in place in order for the state to sustained the great value and educational exploits it is known for.
She, however, warned the current generation of young people to desist from gambling, illegitimate and fraudulent activities as it is capable of derailing their future while encouraging them to be focused in their educational pursuit as it is capable of taking them to the top.
She further reiterated that it is very imperative for her to provide learning tools for the schools as well as equipments necessary for their effective learning and examinations.
“My conviction for donating science equipments and textbooks on science subjects, English and Mathematics is to help and assist indigent students in their WAEC, NECO, NABTEB, JAMB examinations”.
The elated senator also revealed that she has already built six(6) classrooms with modern facilities in every local governments areas of the Senatorial district while assuring that a virtual library will soon be built for use of schools in the senatorial district.
The Senator, however, assured that the second phase of the empowerment programme will cover the remaining 28 Secondary Schools in the district in no distant time.
