The August Edition of the Monthly Environmental Sanitation will hold on Saturday August 28th, 2021 between hours of 7am and 10am.
According to a press release from the office of the Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Barrister Iyabo Fakunle Okieimen, all government workers are to clean the environment of their offices on Friday 27th before leaving for the weekend.
The Commissioner who said the theme of this month exercise is: PROTECT YOUR ENVIRONMENT FROM EPIDEMICS charged the general public to clean their environment during the exercise, adding that there will be restrictions on both human and vehicular movements.
Mrs Okieimen admonished all traders in the various markets to use the opportunity to clean their shops and stalls and to also ensure that all wastes generated are properly disposed and not poured into the drainages and urged them not to open markets stalls for business until 10am.
According to her, the State and Local Government Environmental officers will be on hand to monitor the exercise especially around shops and market places.
The Honorable Commissioner enjoined all Ekiti people to keep a clean environment keeping in mind the issues of climate change and corona virus pandemic.
