Nigeria’s Super Eagles striker, Cyriel Dessers has said that he is delighted to make his debut for Feyenoord and has vowed to repay the club for the faith they put in him.
Dessers made a switch back to the Dutch Eredivisie, after leaving Heracles Almelo for his boyhood club, KRC Genk.
The transfer to Genk didn’t go according to plans as the striker struggled for game time, before he was allowed to join Feyenoord on a season long loan.
Speaking after his debut, the former Lokeren player said, he is now a different player from the one people saw at Heracles and can’t wait to prove his worth.
“I’m a different player from a few years ago,” he told Voetbal International.
“When people talk about my time at Utrecht or Heracles, I don’t care. I’ve become a much better footballer and can’t wait to show that to everyone.”
Dessers almost thanked Feyenoord for giving him the opportunity to return to the league and he vowed to repay the club on pitch.
