Extremely talented singer, David Adeleke Davido has been speaking about how he got into trouble for supporting the #EndSARZ protest.

The 28-year-old made this known in an interview with South African TV host Trevor Noah while explaining how his hit song ‘Fem’ became an anthem for the protest.

“I did not record the song thinking the protest was going to happen, I got into a lot of trouble. I had to actually leave the country. It was that bad.

“I was reposting everything that had to do with the campaign. It was amazing to see people come out like that. ”And I will say this: they listened to us. They heard us. They might not have changed anything but they were shook,” he said.

EndSARZ is a decentralised social movement and series of mass protests against police brutality in Nigeria. It started in 2017 but became serious in October 2020.

Many lives and property were lost during the protest.
