All is set for the sensitisation train of the Southwest Agenda for Asiwaju (SWAGA’23) to roll into Lagos in continuation of consultation and mobilisation tour of the region.

During the consultative mobilisation, the organisation will collate more messages of Nigerians urging the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, to run for president in 2023.

However, the Lagos State Chapter of SWAGA will be launched.

The group, led by former Minister of Works and Media Adviser to the late Chief Moshood Abiola, Prince Dayo Adeyeye had inaugurated chapters in Osun, Ogun, Ondo and Ekiti states after its regional inauguration in Ibadan, the political headquarters of Western Nigeria, on 15th December, last year.

Adeyeye, who spoke with reporters in Lagos, said: “With serious determination to succeed, Lagos shall stand still for SWAGA’23.”

Notable Southwest traditional rulers, including the Ooni of Ife, Alaafin of Oyo, Olubadan of Ibadan, Alake of Egbaland, Olu of Ilaro, Akarigbo of Remoland, Ataoja of Osogbo, Deji of Akure, Oluwo of Iwo, Osemawe of Ondo, and Olukare of Ikare, had received the group and supported the call for Tinubu to contest.

They had also lent their voice to the agitation for his candidature while praying for a successful outing for the group in their efforts at wooing him to throw his hat into the ring.

Members of the Central Working Committee (CWC), including the Deputy Chairman Senator Soji Akanbi, Senator Gbenga Obadara, Senator Tony Adeniyi, Monsuru Alao,  Abiodun Akinlade, Mrs Ayo Omidiran, Oyetunde Ojo,  Rotimi Makinde, Ifedayo Abegunde, Apostle Oloruntoba Oke, Kola Peregrino, Ganiyu Dauda, Mrs Kafilat Agbara  and Bosun Oladele, the Secretary General, are set for the tour and engagement with stakeholders.

Adeyeye said Tinubu is preferred for the highest service, having demonstrated that capacity as former governor of Lagos State.

He described him as a great national asset, a hunter for talent, a lover of human development, an economic problem solver and a bridge builder.

The former minister said the group had been strengthened to forge ahead in its consultations because of the positive responses by millions of Nigerians.

Stressing that Tinubu is eminently qualified to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023, he said build on the achievements recorded by the administration and inspire a new hope in the future of the country.
