Super Eagles’ striker, Musa Ahmed has yet been described as a ‘exceptional captain’ by German coach Gernot Rohr after hitting a landmark 100 international caps on Sunday in the Qatar 2022 World Cup qualifier in Douala.
The 28-year-old who is currently with Turkish Super Lig club, Fatih Karagumruk, on Sunday became the third Nigerian player after Joseph Yobo and Vincent Enyeama to reach the international milestone.
“We are happy for the 100 caps, “Rohr, who reportedly made 352 appearances for French side Bordeaux in his heyday, told NationSport. “We are happy because these numbers of games are exceptional.”
The former Bayern Munich defender was full of praises for Musa, adding the leadership style of former Kano Pillars forward has bode well for the Super Eagles under his watch.
“It is so exceptional to do 100 caps for one’s country,” Rohr affirmed.
“He has been helping us in this leadership and starting the game like a captain in the 100 caps yesterday (against CAR); so we are very happy about it.”
