Honourable Sikiru Sanda, the chairman of Egbeda Local Government Area of Ibadan and the chairperson of Oyo ALGON has appealed to factional members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to sheath their swords and work for the progress of the party.
The Chairman further stated that the congress held at the Lekan Salami Sport Complex, Adamasingba which produced Mr Dayo Ogungbenro as the Oyo state PDP chairman is the authentic and recognised congress approved by the party’s hierarchy.
He, however, stated that the party will work towards reconciling the aggrieved members who are dissatisfied while reiterating that the party is big enough to accommodate all.
He said, “The PDP is a strong and structured party that has been in existence since 1998 and it is not right to go against the constitution of the party. We must just learn to work together with the governor to move the party and Oyo state forward’’.
On his thought towards the congresses recently held across the nation, he said, “The congress held in Oyo state was very peaceful compared to other states. Everybody has a right to fight for their rights, we are only interested in the welfare of Oyo state’s residents and Nigerians as a whole.
The ALGON boss gave these submissions while featuring on a weekly radio show, Ayekooto on Radio’ anchored by Olayinka Agboola and broadcast live on Lagelu 96.7 FM, Felele Ibadan, the capital city of Oyo State’s on Tuesday evening.
Speaking on his greatest achievement as Chairman of Egbeda Local Government, he said “The issue of security is paramount and important to us and we have worked assiduously to promote peace and improved the security situation in the local government’’.
He further stated that security is pivotal to economic development in any state while reaffirming that the traditional leaders in the local government have been very supportive in the area of improving peace and security situation in Egbeda local government.
