The much talked about national convention of the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has come and gone with the emergence of one time Senate President, Dr Iyorchia Ayu as its new National Chairman.
However, trust our Parrots, they have come back with a report about how former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar treated new party man and popular, international businessman, Aare Dele Momodu to what they described as ‘Atiku’s articulated sliding tackle’ at the political event in Abuja on Saturday.
Read the report of our ubiquitous Parrots “Bob Dee as we call Aare Dele Momodu came across the former Vice President at the Convention Ground in Abuja and they exchanged pleasantries.
“The ever-articulated Atiku did not waste time to quip ‘Dele, I was told you are planning to contest in the Presidential election, we shall meet on the field’. Atiku then moved in for the sliding-tackle, ‘You also wrote that I’m too old’.
“Trust Bob Dee, a graduate of the Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola school of Politics – he had his own ready-made answer ‘Your Excellency, I can’t take a unilateral decision on contesting Sir.’
“Momodu then went ahead to adlib ‘Also, I did not say you’re too old, I said age is a factor and there are many young qualified Nigerians and your boy who responded to my article did a poor job…’
“At this point, Alhaji Atiku then informed the Chief Executive Officer at Ovation International Media Group that ‘I didn’t send the boy to reply…’
“Observers, however, noted this particular ‘game’, they, perhaps are now waiting for time to tell where and when next the duo of Atiku and Momodu will meet next again…”
