Two persons have reportedly lost their lives in a lone fatal accident early Monday morning along the Ilorin-Bode Saadu expressway.

The Nigerian Tribune gathered that the auto accident involving a white commercial Toyota Hiace bus with registration number BFU947XA, was caused by a burst tyre leading to loss of control of the vehicle.

The accident on the first day of November 2021, happened at Olokonla community in the Moro Local Government Area of Kwara State at about 4:00 am.

It was also gathered that a total number of six people were involved in the accident, as three persons reportedly sustained varying degrees of injuries.

The first information reports (FIR) issued by the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) said that the vehicle, driven by a driver identified as Tekno, had no national drivers licence.

The incident was confirmed by the state sector commander of the FRSC, Jonathan Owoade, and did not cause any obstruction on the expressway.

The FRSC boss, who said that injured victims were taken to a nearby private hospital called Adua Hospital, added that one of the injured victims had been referred to the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH), apparently due to high degree of injury sustained in the crash.

He also said that the corpses had been deposited at the UITH mortuary, Ilorin.

Owoade also said that items recovered at the scene of the accident were in the custody of the personnel of the Nigeria Police, who he said arrived scene of the crash first.
