The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has shown in its latest report that Globacom recorded the biggest growth in voice and internet subscribers in the third quarter of 2021.
The industry regulator’s monthly Subscribers Data for Q3, 2021, which was published on its website, indicated that Globacom expanded its subscriber base to 52,934,990, after it added 2,804,450 in the third quarter ending in September.
The report showed that Globacom also maintained its position as Nigeria’s preferred data network, increasing its Internet subscribers by over 1 million in three months.
The company moved to 38,902,243 at the end of Q3, having recorded 1,497,139 new Internet users as against 37,875,966 customers at the end of Q2.
The reverse was the case for the duo of MTN and 9mobile, which recorded losses; MTN also lost 1,182,649, thus going down to 58,412,242 from 59,594,891 in Q2.
9mobile moved from 6,108,151 in Q2 to 5,901,383 in Q3, having lost 206,768 subscribers. Airtel came second, moving up from 36,235,905 in Q2 to 36,706,811 at the end of Q3.
