Oyo SWAN Week: Pepsi, Owu, Amber Join Other Supporters

A foremost sports kit manufacturer in Nigeria Owu and the prominent beverage company, 7up Bottling Company have joined the lists of corporate bodies supporting the 2021 edition of the annual Week of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) Oyo state chapter.

The SWAN week, which holds from December 13 to December 19, is featuring various programmes including lecture, football competition and table tennis as well as award presentation for distinguished personalities who have contributed to the growth of sports in Oyo state.

The Chief Executive Officer of Owu, Barrister Tunji Brown hinted that his company would provide kits to the finalists of the Five – A – Side Football Tournament.

“We’re kitting the finalists of this year’s football competition. As friends of the media, this is our own way of ensuring that the Sports Week is hitch free”, Barrister Brown said.

Similarly, the Ibadan Plant of the 7up Bottling Company are supporting the Association with their products.

The General Manager of the Ibadan Plant of the Beverage producing company, Mrs Foluke Ariyo says

“Gifting Oyo SWAN many crates of our products is our contribution to the success of the Week. And it is also aimed at ensuring that friends in the media have fun-filled celebrations”.

Also, makers of Amber Energy Drink have also donated some of their products to Oyo SWAN for entertainment of guests and participants in the programmes lined up for its Week.

The Company’s Assistant Head of Sales, Korede Omole said the presentation of the energy drinks is to “nourish the competitors and officials in the football and table tennis competitions lined up for the celebrations, while also boosting their morales”.

Recall that a digital satellite broadcast outfit, Startimes Nigeria had earlier donated N250,000 to Oyo SWAN to take care of logistics for the weeklong celebrations of the 2021 Oyo SWAN Week.

This year’s Oyo SWAN Week is expected to be declared open by the Honourable Minister of Youths and Sports, Chief Sunday Dare with many dignitaries including the Oyo State Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Asiwaju Seun Fakorede and his counterpart in the Ministry of Information, Cultures and Tourism, Dr Wasiu Olatunbosun as well as sports administrators, sports promoters, athletes and captains of industries gracing the weeklong celebrations.
