The Oyo state Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Union Chairperson of the Judiciary Staff Union of Oyo State (JUSUN), Comrade Kayode Martins has urged the state’s Governor Seyi Makinde to grant autonomy to the judiciary arm of government in the state in order to make justice delivery easier and less time consuming.

The Chairman stated this during the 2021 end of the year party and send off ceremony held at the premises of the Oyo State High Court, Ring road Ibadan on Friday, December 17, 2021.

He further eulogized the Chief Judge of Oyo State, Honorable Justice Munta Ladipo Abimbola for his exemplary leadership and for ensuring a conducive working environment for all members of staff during the pandemic year.

He, however, thanked judiciary staff members in Oyo State for their maximum support and cooperation especially during the challenging period of COVID-19,while he wished them a merry Christmas and prosperous new year.

Speaking on behalf of the awardees, Comrade Femi Aborisade appreciated the unity among the Oyo Judiciary workers during the stormy days for the request of judicial autonomy while charging them not to relent in their effort until the government accedes to their desires.

The event was well attended by the members of staff of the judiciary and other top government officials in the state including the Chief Judge of the state who was ably represented by Hon. Justice Aiki.

In remembrance of the effort of the departed colleagues of JUSUN, a minute silence was observed in memory of the former Chief registrar, Late Alhaja Badru and Comrade Gbenga Oshinowo who were active members of the association during their lifetime.
