The people of Ekiti State have been showing appreciation as the Chairman of Southern Senators Forum, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele and his team give out rice and other items to put smiles on their faces in the spirit of the season.
PMParrot can confirm that the distribution of bags of rice and other gifts to all indigenes of Ekiti state in 177 wards is still in progress. Many residents have been showing appreciation.
Opeyemi in a statement issued by the media Office directed that the Christmas gifts must be distributed to everyone that shows up at the distribution centers across the state.
According to the statement, the distribution of rice and other gifts should not be misconstrued as ‘campaign strategy’ , but as fundamental principle upon which Christmas is predicated which is all about sharing and giving.
The statement reads in part, “The spirit of the season requires every one of us to give out, share love and happiness.
“Based on this fundamental and social tradition Senator Michael Opeyemi Bamidele is embarking on sharing of Christmas gifts across the Sixteen Local Government Areas in Ekiti State.
“The distribution itself is, however, not limited to party members alone as it is targeted at the right sector of the social order who may not be able to comprehend the demands and pressure of the moment.
“The distribution is done through the Ward Chairmen and Local Government Chairmen who represent the general public to ascertain appropriateness in distribution. These are the pickup points and people should take advantage of them and share with MOB in this period of Christmas.”
