A gubernatorial aspirant from the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) in Ekiti State, Hon. Femi Bamisile has cautioned the party not to think of the idea of imposing an anointed candidate in the forthcoming election or risk losing the state house seat.

The lawmaker representing Ekiti East, Gbonyin and Emure local government areas of Ekiti State gave the warning in Ado-Ekiti recently.

He further stated that imposing a candidate in the Ekiti gubernatorial race has grave consequence while expressing confidence that the electorates are now politically conscious, smarter and wiser to vote the candidate of their choice.

The lawmaker assured the electorates of his readiness to build on the foundation of past governors in the state, recalling that he is far more experienced among those competing for the governorship seat.

He said, “Four years ago during the APC primary election, I was one of the 23 aspirants and I got the 4th position”.

He further stated that he has served virtually in all past administrations ranging from Governor Adeniyi Adebayo’s government to the current administration of Dr Kayode Fayemi before his election as a federal lawmaker.

He, however, pledged to use his over twenty years’ experience as a grassroot politician to turn around the fortunes of the state if elected.
