Union Berlin striker, Taiwo Awoniyi says Nigeria’s Super Eagles are determined to make the country proud in Cameroon.
The Super Eagles are currently training in Abuja ahead of the 2021 African Cup of Nations, which is just less than a week away from now.
Awoniyi who scored nine league goals for Union Berlin this season will be attending his first senior tournament with Nigeria and he’s likely to lead the attack with Victor Osimhen and Paul Onuachu missing.
“For us, it is to go there and do everything for the country. We just finished another training session, getting there step by step and when the time comes we will deliver for the country.
”It’s been a great session, two times a day since we resumed camp, different drills getting us to the rhythm and getting us ready for the games,” he told NFF TV.
The Super Eagles will open their Group D campaign against Mohammed Salah’s Egypt on the 11th of January.
