Nigerians Admonished To Shun Get-Rich-Quick-Approach To Life

The Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Ekiti, Most Rev. Felix Ajakaye and the Chief Imam, Adebayo Central Mosque, Ado Ekiti, Alhaji Abdulfatah Abdulazeez have admonished Nigerians to shun inordinate quest to get rich quick.

The clerics who spoke during an interdenominational prayers session organized by members of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ekiti state council, affirmed that the current rise in criminal activities ranging from killings, kidnappings are due to ungodly desperation and the quest to get rich quick by Nigerians.

The Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Ekiti, the Most Rev. Felix Ajakaye who was represented by Rev, Father Anthony Ijasan, stated that only God gives true wealth while urging Nigerians to desist from ungodly activities.

Speaking further, the Chief Imam of Adebayo Central Mosque, Alhaji Abdulfatah Abdullazeez further admonished Muslim and Christian faithful to remain steadfast in their respective faiths.

He further urged Nigerians to stop patronizing fake prophets and ritualists in the quest to make money at all cost.

He stated that criminal activities always attract punishment from God and the law enforcement agencies.

The cleric further advocated for better welfare packages for journalists in view of their roles in the society.

Earlier, the chairman of Ekiti NUJ, Comrade Rotimi Ojomoyela stated that the prayer session was organized to seek the favor and protection of God over every member of the union and for the progress of the council in the new year.
