All Progressive Congress (APC) topshot in Ekiti state, Hon. Femi Bamisile has formally signified his intention to contest for the Ekiti gubernatorial seat.
The event which took place at the party’s secretariat in Ado-Ekiti, was presided over by the state’s chairman of the party, Barrister Paul Omotoso and other high ranking officials.
Speaking, Hon. Bamisile stated that his concern for the development of Ekiti state and the wellbeing of the residents propelled his interest in the governorship contest while appreciating the state governor Kayode Fayemi for his developmental strides in different spheres of the state’s economy, describing him as a visionary, purposeful and exemplary leader.
Hon. Bamisile who is currently the Chairman, House committee on Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA) in the House of Representatives, stated that he is positioning himself to contribute his quota to the development of the state and for the general wellbeing of the people.
He further stressed that the mandate of his agenda will be anchored on leadership and good governance stressing that Ekiti residents been yearning for leadership that can address the challenges of insecurity, youth unemployment and poverty in the state.
Hon. Bamisile further renewed the call for Ekiti south senatorial district to be given the mandate to govern the state while urging the electorates to vote for a governorship aspirant from the zone.
The state APC chairman, Barrister Paul Omotoso further assured Hon. Bamisile of a level playing ground for every aspirant, maintaining that the leadership of the party has no anointed candidate to be given the ticket.
The publicity secretary of the party, Mr Segun Dipe affirmed that APC would emerge victorious at the governorship election stating that five aspirants have formally shown interest.
