Barely hours after the defection of the former Governor of Ekiti State, Engineer Segun Oni from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), there has been an uneasiness within the camps of the duo of the governorship candidate of the PDP candidate, Bisi Kolawole and Biodun Oyebanji, the All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate respectively.
The Director of Media and Publicity of Segun Oni Movement (SOM) Jackson Adebayo released this in a statement to journalists in Ado Ekiti on Sunday.
He stated that the former Governor of the state, Ayo Fayose is becoming jittery due to the rising popularity of Segun Oni Movement, as his defection has further polarized the party revealing that Fayose has expressed his fear on the new development as thousands among the party members recently joined the Segun Oni Movement.
Oni’s spokesman Adebayo further revealed that Fayose has convinced Governor Fayemi that some of the aggrieved members of the APC also attended the packed meeting at Ifaki Ekiti where Oni unveiled his plans to contest the June governorship election on another platform.
He further urged well-meaning Ekiti sons and daughters and other stakeholders in the state to warn both Fayemi and Fayose to desist from do-or-die politics but rather convince the electorates to vote for their preferred candidates instead of interfering in the affairs of the Segun Oni’s Movement.
