The Segun Oni Movements has accused the Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi of orchestrating a grand plan to scrap the Local Government Development Areas (LCDA) in the state due to the mismanagement of funds.
The movement further accused the All Progressive Congress (APC), governorship candidate, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, of embezzling the fund.
The Director of Media and Publicity of the organization, Mr. Jackson Adebayo revealed this recently in a statement in Ado Ekiti.
He said that the APC government, in an attempt to cover its fraudulent record has decided to scrap the LCDAs while chiding the party for blaming its woes on Segun Oni.
He reaffirmed that the SDP gubernatorial candidate would not scrap the Local Government Development Areas if elected stating that Oni has always been at the forefront of strengthening the LCDAs especially towards his contributions to the Isokan LCDA at Ifaki Ekiti.
Adebayo further noted that Segun Oni was the first governor in Nigeria to grant autonomy to local governments, judiciary and the legislative arm of government during his tenure stressing that part of the former governor’s agenda if elected is to create more LCDAs and resolve existing disputes over the insincerity of the present government.
