Prince Dapo Abiodun’s government in Ogun State through the Bureau of Information Technology (BIT) has given free training to some unemployed graduates on developing a new Information Technology solution with an assurance of immediate employment, so as to reduce the unemployment rate among its citizens.
The programme, according to the Press Officer, BIT, Mrs. Olayinka Ezema, was organized by the present administration to broaden the scope of the youths in Information and Communication Technology (ICT), held at Ogun Techhub, kobape Abeokuta.
In his keynote address, the Special Adviser to the Governor on ICT, Mr. Dayo Abiodun said the training is management-based to enable public and private sectors manage cost, reduce stress, and save time, among others using new innovations in Information Technology (IT).
“The present administration in Ogun is determined to digitalize the State, hence the three months of free training given to the participants in order to develop new IT ideas that could be adopted by government and private firms.
Some of the unique digital solutions created by the trainees such as transportation, education and hospital management solutions, and so on, will reduce unemployment, as well as boost the digital economy of the State.”
Also speaking, Special Assistant to the Governor on ICT, Mr. Olakunle Akibola noted that graduands would be employed by the Software Business Solutions Consulting (SBSC), who are specialized in developing business solutions for organisations, training youths on ICT, among others, adding that it would be a continuous program for unemployed graduates in the State, in order to reduce unemployment to the barest minimum.
Appreciating the State government on behalf of other participants, Mr. Victor Olawale who created a unique transportation management solution said they were overwhelmed by the commitment of the present administration and its partners for giving them free training and stipends for their upkeep.
